Imagine a Change Like This!
A farmer cleaned up his prize pig, gave it a huge bath, put a bow on it, and then perfumed it up! He said to himself, “This pig will be different! It will stay clean and not want the wallow in the mud.” But as soon as the pig was let out of the care of the farmer, it went straight back to the mud hole and jumped in! Isn’t that like we are so many times?
We want to do right, but then inside of us something takes over and we run back to the mud! Imagine doing something that would CHANGE the pig’s nature to not like the mud but want to stay clean and follow the farmer instead of running away to the mud. It would be amazing.
Now imagine, if your inner nature could be CHANGED! Imagine how amazing it would be to live without even liking the “muddy things” of your life. The inner change in you would be so deep and effective that you would want to do what’s right and even have the power to do those things.
RELIGION is like the farmer’s attempt to fix the pig with a wash, perfume, and a bow. It doesn’t work. It tries to fix people’s problems by working on behavior and cleaning up outward conditions.
However, a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with God through Jesus Christ has the power to change your inner nature so deeply that you will never be the same and not want the old wrong ways of thinking, believing, and behaving. God literally and supernaturally changes you from the inside-out. That is the message of the Bible – not religion!
The message of Jesus has the power to transform individuals and families lives radically. Unlike self-help and many other methods of trying to manage life’s difficulties, the Gospel of Jesus has the power to change a person’s heart which affects every other area of their life.

OUR “PLANS” FOR 2021
START GROUPS LED BY MEN
- Men leading is fundamental to solid Biblical churches growing and reaching other families.
- I will be starting a Man-Church podcast to help reach and disciple men.
- These men will be serving the community by helping with Veterans events and caring for single-moms who need help. The best form of discipleship is elbow-to-elbow.
- These groups will function as small-church like groups.
BEGINNING A MEN’S GROUP!
- The “STAND FIRM” Men’s Group means to STAND, Fearless, Incarnational, and as Remnant Men. God has been moving in my heart to call out the Remnant Men to pray, learn together, worship together, and lead in serving their families, community, and church during these perilous times.
SERVE THE COMMUNITY
- Formerly Homeless Military Veterans (25). We have been providing groceries for these men, but now the director has invited us to do events with them, like cookouts, Axe-throwing, movie nights, and fishing trips with these men. This will be great for them but also for our men who will be serving with us! We will need a large team of men for this kind of ministry.
- Serving 50 Single parents (mostly moms) who need groceries, and their kids bicycles fixed, and other things our men’s team can handle!
- Helping families who need help when can.
- Family Fun events with the constraints that we may be given.
SHARE THE GOSPEL!
- That is the main thing we will be doing.
- We will be teaching on how to share your faith. We want to see 50 people get trained this year to be able to share their faith!
The Well Newsletter End of Year Report 2020
THANK YOU!
RECENTLY!
- Seven families we were able to help with collectively over 25 kids! That equated to more than 120 presents for these families! We want to thank you for making this happen! Read the thank you notes at the bottom of this email.
SHARING THE GOSPEL!
- Because of Covid, thousands of people have heard the Gospel this year through The Well! Many have responded to the Gospel and have followed Jesus! I am so excited about this!
- Church in the Park! We reached hundreds with our outside services. Then we did fellowship events the following week which helped everyone get out of the house and enjoy meeting and seeing others. We were able to connect with lots of people!
- Trained dozens of people in how to lead a discipleship group.
- Produced and published the Fire Pit Church Bible Study, a disciple making curriculum and a new believers guide.
- Easter: We gave out over 350 Easter Egg bags with the Gospel inside each bag. Community members and leaders helped us distribute them.
- Lots of fun events to connect: Snow sledding outreach, Father’s Day grill out, Birthday party outreach, duck race family outreach, and other community relationship building events.
- This summer we were able to have kids camps which were wonderful! Many came to follow Christ.
- Two couples in the community asked me to do their weddings.
PLANTING CHURCHES
SERVING THE COMMUNITY
- We were able to serve 7 families with Christmas gifts, groceries, and other essential assistance for these families to make it another month. God is good.
- We have helped nearly 100 families with groceries!
- 25 formerly homeless Veterans – hamburgers, chicken, and all kinds of food to bless them. They have not been able to get fresh meat because of their low income, but we have been able to help. One of these vets hasn’t cooked in years, and now he is cooking again! Cooking is great therapy!
- 50 Single parents with a freezer, and then filling it numerous times with meats, hamburger, chicken, and of course chicken nuggies!
COVID RESPONSE:
- We decided to scale up during Covid and press into serving the community.
- We organized a team to help CARE for our isolated neighbors.
- We hosted a food drive and a food pantry for community members in need.
Feeling shaken, broken, directionless, unsettled, and wondering about where your life is going? This message is for you. God doesn’t want you wandering around through life wondering about the answers to these questions. Jesus describes it for us in John 15. Join Pastor Bill this morning as he teaches on Real Life in Christ, the Abiding Life.
Announcements & Upcoming
Hey friends, we were hoping for a Fall Church in the Park kickoff but the smoke from the fires are keeping us from doing anything outside. The Well has been donated a huge projector and screen for outdoor movies, but we are not in position to be able to do this either.
So I have been working on a way we can do church together and still have close fellowship with one another. You will be seeing our new resource and training come out in the next two weeks.
Fire Pit Church is coming and we believe you will love it!

Finding Peace in the Midst of Panic
Join Pastor Bill as he teaches on how to find peace in the middle of panic and chaos. Psalm 11 on June 28, 2020 – Church in the Park.
Psalm 11
1 In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to my soul,
“Flee like a bird to your mountain, 2 for behold, the wicked bend the bow; they have fitted their arrow to the string to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart; 3 if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man. 5 The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence. 6 Let him rain coals on the wicked; fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous; he loves righteous deeds; the upright shall behold his face.”
